How to scan a photograph:

Computer #1 is connected to the scanner in the lab. Open the HP Precisionscan Pro software. (See screenshot below.)

The HP Scanjet product tour may open. (If it opens, close the window unless you want a tour.)

Place your photograph on the scanner face down.

Follow the guided steps:

1. Click on the scanner icon left of the sentence: Start a new scan.
2. Once the picture appears in the window in the right pane, use your cursor to select the area of the picture you want to capture. (All of it or part of it.)
3. Leave step 3 as is (True Color).
4. Step 5 (on the men): Choose: Save As:
5. Make sure you save to your N: drive (the default is My Documents on the computer you are sitting at.)
6. Give the picture a file name. (all lowercase, no spaces)
7. Save as type: Jpeg Image (*.jpg)

You picture is available on your N: drive to insert into your documents.
